Being aware of the fact that the entire CAPS(central admission processing system) process is still all new to JAMB candidates, most student may not see the need of visiting the portal at all, I for one has seen series cases whereby student tell themselves in various social media platform to forget about CAPS, in case you don’t know they are consequences when you decide not to accept your admission status on CAPS. The jamb registrar made it clear during the intensive briefing on CAPS that all student should/must visit JAMB CAPS after being given provisional admission by their institution of choice. Candidates are expected to note that the time frame for accepting/rejecting admission is 2-3 days, therefore candidates should ensure to visit the CAPS portal as often as possible, probably daily, though I can’t say for sure what happens when that time elapse but to be on a safer side I would advise you either accept or reject the admission before that period (to see how to accept/reject admission on CAPS CLICK HERE

Back to the main question, what happens when you don’t accept your Admission on CAPS?
--When you don't accept your admission on CAPS you won't be able to print your JAMB admission letter: A lot of student may not be aware of the importance of the importance of their Jamb Admission letter not until the day of their clearance, irrespective of your school of choice you will be required to submit your JAMB admission letter during your clearance exercise, meaning without it you cannot be cleared. Below is a screen shot of a notice issued by Lagos State University

which states "This is to inform all candidates who applied to LASU in the last JAMB Admission exercise and have been offered provisional admission to please visit JAMB central admission processing system (CAPS) website to accept the offer of admission".

The JAMB Admission Letter is quite important for the following reasons.

1. You need to have rest of mind that your admission is secured and have evidence to back it up.
2. You need to successfully complete your admission registration and clearance process.
3. You need to be approved and deployed for the National Youth Service Program (NYSC).
4. You need to successfully apply for a scholarship. Most Companies and Organizations will request for it.
5. You need to further your education locally or abroad.
The importance of this document can not be over emphasized. It is required for every fresh and old student.

Therefore i would advice all candidates to ensure they accept their admission on CAPS while for those who have not seen admitted yet on their profile, to check daily
