It is the hope of every student done with his/her secondary school to get admitted into their various University of choice, but due to low Admission Quota of Universities in Nigeria it has become quite difficult for student to be admitted. It may interest you to know that out of over a million candidates that apply for Jamb only about 30% will be admitted, then what happen to the remaining 70%, certainly they are to rewrite next year but I pray that is not your portion. But faith without work is dead, you determine about 80% of your possibilities of gaining admission. Today I will be listing out things You should/must do to secure Admission for 2018.

BELOW IS THE LIST OF TO DO's.....

1. Start your preparation Now...
Most student have this believe that they have enough time to prepare and activate themselves till the actual date of the exam but the quicker you get rid of that idea the better. The best time for you to have started your preparation wasn't yesterday, nor tomorrow but rather NOW, the keys to your success in the upcoming UTME exam are on your palm. A student(Jamb 2018 aspirant precisely)  asked me few days ago "what are my chances of been admitted in the institution of my choice" and my response was very simple "You will be the one to determine that" regardless of the school you are applying for or how competitive the course you applied for is, you are still the one to decide if you will be admitted or not. Some may ask How? The answer is very simple, you read so well and pass so well that your university of choice can't even think of denying you admission, but you can't archive this by sleeping or playing around,  No! This can only be achieved by sitting  down Now and begin your preparation not tomorrow nor next but Now, I have already explained on my previous article how to prepare yourself for the upcoming Utme Exam, you can continue reading on that by Clicking Here

2. Ensure to go through Jamb Brochure before registration Begins.....
We have had series of reported cases where by student filled out wrong subject combination for their desired Course or not having the required O'Level grade(Credit)  for their dream course. Information is power and in order for you not to be a victim of such we advise that all 2018 Jamb aspirant gets acquainted with Jamb Brochure before registration begins which is set to start from on the 22nd of November.

Mind you: This errors which you think maybe insignificant can drastically decrease your chances of been admitted.

You can easily access the E-BROCHURE provided by jamb by clicking HERE

3. Be careful of highly competitive courses....
I have always advised prospective candidate to be cautious of the course they choose to pursue.
If you can barely score above 200 in jamb and you are fighting for law, medicine, accounting, mass communication and others, you are wasting your time and resources.
Some courses require extra sacrifices.
The number of applicant that applied for the same course will be very high and there is limited admission slot as earlier stated.
The extra brilliant student may survive it but the brilliant, average and poor student will be disappointed.

4. Read wise, Read smart and pray....
The result of last jamb reveal in our analysis that the amount of time you spend to study may not have effect on your health score.
However if you read smart and wise you are likely to score above your expectation.
Moreso, it's advisable to read at the time that suit your brain and body And don't read to show your mum and that you are preparing for exam but read because you know what you want to achieve.
Lastly the God factor is very essential, some candidate failed as a result of malfunction in the CBT centre or power issue.
Pray hard and success will be yours.....

5. Take your Post Utme seriously..
After excelling in Jamb a lot of student feel relaxed and see no need to start preparing for their POST UTME  saying "after all I made it in Jamb why won't I make It In the upcoming POST UTME" (Over confidence). Your gaining admission is not only determined by your Jamb score but also your POST UTME inclusive, Take for example a school like UNIBEN whose POST UTME is over hundred(100).

See this simple analysis below..

Jamb score devided by 8.
Let say Jamb score 280

When divided by 8 becomes 35.

Summed up with your post Utme score which will be divided by 2
Lets say Post Utme score 48

When divided by 2 becomes 24

If such a person applied for a course like medicine & surgery certainly the person Admission is on a fence...

So don't feel too relaxed when you excel in Your Jamb exams  but see it as a need to study more and perform better. Remember it ain't over until it's over.

6. Don't Abadon Meat for Fish........
Beware and don't make this silly mistake.
The 2016 jamb policy gave each registered
candidates the opportunity to select two
different universities.
However you must be inform that only the
university you select as first choice will be
more willing to consider you for admission
while the university you choose as 2nd choice may not consider you for admission.
Make sure you put 70% of your strength on the university you selected as first choice and give the remaining 30% strength you have to the university you selected as 2nd choice.
