Jibrin Barau, Chairman, Senate Committee on Tertiary Institutions and TETFUND, made the interest while tending to columnists on Wednesday in Abuja.
He said that while the Senate felt for the union, its individuals should cancel the hit while consulting with the national government towards finding enduring answer for the issue.
Mr. Barau said the Senate, in a letter sent to it by ASUU, learnt that piece of the grievance was absence of trust in the board of trustees set up by the central government to re-arrange the 2009 understanding.
The legislator reviewed that when the union proclaimed cautioning strike not long ago, the Senate mediated and guaranteed that the issue did not wait.
He said that ASUU did not report back to the Senate on the troubles it had in the re-arrangement with the advisory group before leaving on the strike.
He asked the union to re-consider its position and come back to the re-arrangement to spare the understudies, guardians and the whole country the negative impacts that would come about because of the activity.
Mr. Barau guaranteed that the advisory group would screen the settlement procedure amongst ASUU and the panel set up by the government to guarantee genial determination of the issue.
